Finally, a faucet that only runs when I want it to run

For months I have been tortured by a kitchen sink that increasingly would run intermittently. During Covid-19 I have been off and not even considering troubleshooting issues quickly. It does not occur to me immediately. I realize this is not a huge issue in the scheme of things and what so many others are enduring. It was stressing me out however, it had gotten to the point I could not rest or relax. Yesterday was the worst! The faucet was turning on (never off unless I looked at it) so frequently that I would barely sit down before hearing it run again. I started to wonder if there was a poltergeist in the house or worse yet, my energy was tormenting me by affecting the faucet. As you hear, my judgement was becoming severely impaired by the faucet events. Then, it started to rain. Now I had to get up more frequently because I could not discern between rain and faucet. Ugh! Finally, the distraction and exhaustion was affecting both my enjoyment baking and my concentration. That was the final straw! Do not mess with my plum cake.

In our defense, during our house rising (Hurricane Katrina) we changed the kitchen faucet. We did not want an automatic faucet. That said, as often as we wash hands during C-19, it is nice to have a touchless faucet. Anyway, I finally had it with the faucet running. I found out we own a Moen. I found a website about touchless faucet myths that said if you buy a quality faucet … and it listed our Moen faucet as one of quality. OMG! There is hope. I found another site (Moen) that told me how to to disable one or both sensors. I figured I would start with one and if it did not fix it, I would disable both, then the other one if it was fixed — basic system troubleshooting. Silence. 1 day of peace so far. The tingling in my hands, the pressure in my head, the tension my neck drained out of my body. I even slept better. Thank you, Moen. I am sure there is something I can do like clean the sensor to fix the problem. I am content for now have the option of touch or touchless via the top sensor. I can now b-r-e-a-t-h-e.
